At Plus Accounting, we understand that business owners and professionals sometimes need a change of scenery from their usual office or home setup. Whether it’s to brainstorm ideas, meet like-minded individuals, or simply enjoy a more relaxed work environment, Brighton is home to some fantastic co-working spaces and coffee spots. Here are some of my top picks for spaces where you can work, network, and enjoy a cup of coffee while supporting your business.
1. Projects (Nile Street and Ship Street)
Projects offers two fantastic co-working locations in central Brighton, making it an ideal spot for entrepreneurs and creative thinkers. Whether you choose their vibrant Nile Street space or the trendy Ship Street hub, both offer a welcoming atmosphere, hot desks, and meeting rooms to help you stay productive. Perfect for those looking to connect with fellow professionals or escape the usual office routine. I tend to use this space when I have a day of meetings in central town, it is a great space to get some focused work completed and bump into some friendly faces!
2. Platf9rm
One of Brighton’s most popular co-working spaces, Platf9rm boasts a lively community feel with locations at Tower Point in central Brighton and Hove Town Hall. Offering various membership options, it’s perfect whether you need a full-time desk or an occasional drop-in. Platf9rm provides an energetic, collaborative space to meet other professionals while working on your business goals. Both locations are full of great businesses and I always enjoy popping in for meetings and events.
3. Plus X
For innovation and tech professionals, Plus X Brighton is the ultimate workspace. This seven-story innovation hub offers top-notch facilities, including maker spaces and podcast studios, alongside a community of forward-thinking businesses. It’s designed to enable creativity and collaboration, making it ideal for high-growth projects or those needing a break from the home office to focus on innovation.
4. Jubilee Library
If you’re after a quiet, cost-effective place to work, Jubilee Library in central Brighton offers free Wi-Fi, plenty of desk space, and a tranquil environment. It’s an excellent spot for freelancers and professionals seeking focus away from the usual hustle, without the need for a co-working membership. A great choice for those looking for simplicity and ease in the heart of the city.
Coffee Spots for Meetings and Breaks:
- Trading Post, Ship Street: An independent café with ample seating and a fantastic coffee menu. Perfect for informal business meetings or catching up with work emails.
- Meanwhile, Jubilee Street: A friendly coffee shop with a great atmosphere, perfect for recharging or working over a cup of Brighton’s best coffee.
- WolfBrod Fox, Church Road: A hidden gem in Hove offering a relaxing environment to enjoy a cup of coffee or light lunch in between work sessions.
